Hasegawa Sumie began studying Daito-ryu Aiki Jujutsu under Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei in 1960. She is currently 8th dan and serves as the Assistant Headquarters Director. In additon to receiving the kyoju-dairi (representative-instructor), Hasegawa Sensei was awarded Kaiden-no-koto (full-transmission) in 2019. She currently directs both the Hamacho and Aikoku Gakuen branch dojo in Tokyo, Japan.
